Mumbai: Nearly about 240 PhDs and MPhils will be awarded during Mumbai University’s annual convocation on Monday. Nearly about 413 candidates had completed their PhD and MPhil and in 2018, the numbers stood at 332. The convocation will be the first physical event with students’ participation in over 20 months of the pandemic. The event was scheduled earlier on December 11th and then it was postponed because of unavoidable reasons. Nearly about 2 lakhs students will be awarded their convocation certificates of which 1.17 lakhs are from the commerce and management faculty alone. Though the numbers are picking up it will take some time to reach pre-Covid levels, said University’s Spokesperson, Vinod Malale.
