HISTORY BEHIND GANESH CHATURTHI

• Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated for the birth of Lord Ganesha.
• One day, Goddess Parvati, while bathing, created Ganesha from the sandalwood paste she used and infused him with life.
• Parvati instructed Ganesha to guard the entrance to her chamber while she bathed.
• Lord Shiva, unaware of Ganesha's presence, returned and attempted to enter the chamber.
• Ganesha, following his mother's instructions, blocked Shiva's entry, leading to a heated argument and, ultimately, a fight.
• In a fit of anger, Lord Shiva beheaded Ganesha.
• Upon realizing what had happened, Parvati was heartbroken and demanded Ganesha's revival.
• Lord Shiva, seeking to console Parvati, promised to bring Ganesha back to life and instructed his followers to find the head of the first living being they encountered.
• They found an elephant and brought its head to Shiva, who then attached it to Ganesha's body, thus reviving him with an elephant's head.
• This event is celebrated as Ganesh Chaturthi, emphasizing the importance of wisdom, intelligence, and overcoming obstacles in life.
