The Students Federation of India (SFI) unit of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) today staged a demonstration on the University campus, opposing the direct entry of students in PhD courses without examinations. The SFI accused the HPU authorities of violating the UGC guidelines to give admissions to some favorites in PhD when qualifying the JRF was mandatory for the same.
