NOIDA: In the city, the union government has planned to set up the Indian Institute of Heritage that is an umbrella body, where all the heritage institutes in the country will run. G. Kishan reddy, The Union culture and tourism minister was declared this information on Monday in the parliament. The Minister said that the Indian Institute of Heritage will be a world-class University and the University will be concentrating on the country’s rich heritage. This Institute will offer masters and doctoral programmes in history and arts, conservation, museology, archival studies, archaeology, preventive conservation, epigraphy, manuscriptology, and numismatics. The University will also offer training for students and employees. It will be a deemed to be University formed by integrating the institute of archaeology, School of archival studies, National research laboratory for conservation of cultural property, national museum institute of history of art, conservation and museum, and the academic wings of Indira Gandhi national centre for arts. The above mentioned institutes will run under the apex center.
