SHIMLA: Once after their country fell into the hands of the Taliban, the Afghan students in Himachal Pradesh are worried about their future. Shimla’s Himachal Pradesh University and Nauni’s Dr. Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry have promised them their visa extensions and expenses.
There are nearly 8 Afghan students in Nauni’s PhD, MSc, and MBA programmes. 14 at HPU and 19 at a private University of Shimla. Those at Nauni are on the Indian Council for Agricultural research fellowship, and while giving the tuition fee it is not a problem for them, the expiring visa is a great fear.
An official from the University has declared that the institute had forwarded the visa extension help request.
