Hidayathulah National Law university, Raipur, won the 1st prize, sastra deemed university, Tamilnadu, was the runner-up and national law University, Jodhpur, bagged the best memorial prize at the 4th Surana & Surana and RGNUL international law moot court competition. The event was held at the Rajiv Gandhi national university of law, Punjab, in association with Surana & Surana international Attorneys, Chennai. Rajvir of Christ Deemed university, Bangalore was adjudged the best advocate. The competition began with the inaugural ceremony on August 19. As many as 38 teams from across the country were competing for the prizes. After the preliminary rounds, four teams had qualified for the semi-finals.
Officials of the department of social sciences, Punjabi university, said the recently launched multi-disciplinary 5-year integrated PG programme in social sciences was the most sought-after course. Its first cut-off for 2021-2022 session for the general category of Punjab residents went up to 91.2%, they said. The officials said the topper students in the merit list for admission had 99.3% marks in class 12 examinations. A total of 629 applications were registered online on the website of Punjabi University for 180 seats in this course.
